Workplace first aid

Peru's Occupational Safety and Health Law No. 29783 (Art. 28) requires employers to guarantee immediate care for accidents or occupational illness, with the annual safety plan including first-aid training for emergency-brigade members and a suitable kit (RM 050-2013-TR). There is no fixed numeric ratio, but a Safety and Health Committee is required from 20 workers, enforced by SUNAFIL under the MTPE.

Childcare CPR & first aid

In Peru, early-childhood caregivers must hold accredited pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the framework of MIDIS (Cuna Más), MINEDU and municipal authorities, and municipal licensing requires a Civil Defense (INDECI) contingency plan with trained first-responders present at all times. Certification is kept current by renewing every two years, and online courses are accepted.

Good Samaritan law

Peru imposes a legal duty to rescue: Article 127 of the Criminal Code ("omisión de auxilio") punishes anyone who fails to give immediate aid they could provide without risk, or fails to notify authorities. Failure is punishable by imprisonment of up to 1 year or 30 to 120 day-fines, and there is no separate civil-liability shield or AED liability protection for the rescuer.

Healthcare professional recognition

In Peru, nurses must hold mandatory registration (colegiación) with the Colegio de Enfermeros del Perú (CEP), which promotes ongoing updating through its Sistema de Educación Continua, though there is no nationwide mandatory credit-based recertification tied to registration. Basic life support and CPR are recommended and expected competencies, and the requirement is met by any recognized continuing-education activity such as CPR/AED, ACLS or PALS.

Residential care settings

In Peru, geriatric residences and rest homes (casas de reposo, CARPAM) for older adults must ensure care staff can provide first aid and CPR until medical help arrives, with the training commonly required by the residence or employer rather than a single regulator. A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate meets this expectation, in addition to the caregiver's occupational training, and must be renewed periodically.

Foster families

Foster families in Peru are governed by Ley N.° 30162, administered by the Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables (MIMP) through its Dirección de Protección Especial, and must be assessed favourably and complete MIMP training to join the Banco de Familias Acogedoras.
